Overcome
all distractions

Please
note that most of what was given to me in these messages applies to
everyone walking the path of personal Christhood.
Jesus: Material things must be your servant. You must
take command and be mindful so that you do not let them run your life
or let them distract you from your mission. You are my brother, and
I can work with you no matter where you are or what material circumstances
you face. The key to your contact with me is inner attunement, and that
is - and must be - independent of any outer circumstances.
If you think your attunement depends on outer circumstances, then you
are suffering from an illusion. True, that some circumstances have more
distractions than others, but I want you to learn to attune to me under
any circumstances. I want you to have constant and unceasing attunement
to me, and I will teach you this if you are willing. “I am willing.”
Then, begin by eliminating distractions by evaluating what you really
need. Ask: “Will this help me fulfill my mission for Jesus, or
is it simply a distraction?”
Simply let go all distractions. Don’t worry and fret about them.
Don’t regret anything or blame yourself. Simply let it go.
Affirm:
What is that to
me, I will follow you, my brother Jesus Christ.
The things of this world mean nothing to me. I will follow you, my
brother Jesus Christ.
I am nonattached
to this, and I follow you, my brother Jesus Christ.
[Obviously anyone can use
the affirmations given in these letters because Jesus is the spiritual
brother of everyone—if you accept him as your brother]
Eliminate distractions and let them go. Surrender any and all attachments.
Give them to me, and I will set you free. Be mindful and discover your
most subtle attachments and then surrender them. Even I had many subtle
attachments when I was in embodiment—think of King David and Uriah’s
wife. Many of these attachments relate to how you see yourself and many
of them make you feel that unless this or that outer condition is met,
you will be incomplete and unwhole.
You simply cannot be popular with most people, and you cannot please
them. As a child, you had far more spiritual light than anyone in your
family, and the adults around you resented you for it because you made
them feel insufficient. They realized they were wanting, but they were
not willing to come up higher.
Your father resented you the least, because he understood your spiritual
longing, which he had when he was young. Unfortunately, he shut it off
in his youth, and he never again let his spiritual longing out of the
prison in his mind. That is why he felt so strongly when you started
your spiritual quest. He was afraid of what might happen to you. He
feared this because he did not acknowledge the truth of the Ascended
Masters, and therefore did not understand that although we might chastise
and test our disciples, we never let them down.
Your father had a chance to take up the spiritual path through you,
but had too much fear and doubt. Yet, he did respect your choice to
go to the United States because of a New Age church. Because of this,
I could give his soul much assistance, and he is now in a much better
place (also because of your prayers) than he otherwise would have been.
He was a good friend to you in his own way. However, let go of your
feeling that you miss him. I am the friend and brother you seek. Embrace
me and let us share the truest of all friendships, that of brothers
in spirit who know they have the same Divine Parents.
Even that [a fly buzzing around the room] was a very small distraction.
Learn to focus your mind within. Focus on me, and I will set you free
from the many external and internal forces that pull on your attention.
I will give you everything you need when you truly need it. Therefore,
stop worrying about things. Simply affirm that God’s kingdom is
already manifest in your life, and do not focus on specifics. Your biggest
problem right now is that your conscious mind is so affected by lack
that you dare not even imagine what the abundant life is like.
Therefore, for a time simply let go of all thoughts about what you want,
need or desire. Give it all to me. Then, focus your attention on me,
and I will gradually reveal to you what God has in store for you. Simply
trust in me. Can you do that? “Yes, I can, and I will.”
Affirm:
I consciously affirm
and know that I have absolute faith in my brother, Jesus Christ. O
Jesus, I do trust you fully.
Faith, trust, is the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I can imagine
better things for you than your outer mind can accept right now. Simply
allow me to hold the vision and then trust that I will manifest it in
time.
