from Jesus:
Let me first say that I wish
the many people who consider themselves students of A Course in
Miracles would come to see the Course as one offering in the ongoing,
progressive revelation released by the Ascended Host. The essence of
this revelation is that it is ongoing and progressive. It is ongoing,
meaning that it will never stop, which also means that no one teaching
or organization gives the final word. There are always deeper levels
of understanding that can be revealed in succeeding revelation.
Our revelation is progressive because when we release a new teaching,
it empowers a group of people to raise their consciousness. Because
all souls are connected in consciousness, this shifts the equation for
consciousness on Earth. And this shift then allows us to release the
next level of revelation. For a number of reasons this might not happen
through the same messenger or organization. My point being that all
sincere spiritual seekers must be on guard against the temptation to
believe a particular teaching is the final word or is all they will
ever need.
Be loyal to the Ascended Host and your own growth instead of confining
yourself to an outer teaching or organization. Therefore, always keep
an eye open for our next revelation and use it as directed from within.
For example, many students of the Course could benefit from studying
my teachings on this website, and they could especially benefit from
using the tools
I give.
Now for your question. The way to overcome unconscious guilt is to make
it conscious. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. Let me insert
an essential teaching from Save
Yourself:
Let me attempt to give
a visual illustration of this. I have said that what keeps a soul
alive is a constant stream of energy flowing from the spiritual self.
You might compare your consciousness to a river. If your thoughts
and emotions are pure, the Water of Life can flow freely. You feel
a great connection to your spiritual self and you have abundant energy.
When you accept an incorrect idea or belief, it is like throwing a
rock into the river. If you throw a rock into a stream, you impede
the flow of the water. The water has to flow around the rock, and
this creates a vortex behind the rock in which debris can accumulate.
Once you make the decision to accept an erroneous idea, that belief
will block the light from your spiritual self. The erroneous belief
will misqualify the light, and the misqualified energy will begin
to accumulate “downstream” from the erroneous belief.
It is like silt accumulating behind the rock in a stream.
Now imagine that a soul has had many lifetimes in which it has accepted
erroneous beliefs. Each belief is like throwing a rock into the river.
Misqualified energy begins to accumulate behind the rock, and it starts
filling up the river bed. This will impede the flow of the water and
it might dam the stream. When the stream is completely clogged with
rocks and silt, people lose all awareness of the spiritual side of
life. They forget their spiritual origin and begin to believe that
they are material, human beings. Because the conscious mind (and all
levels of the soul) are downstream from the spiritual self, the blocks
in the river prevent the conscious mind from seeing the I AM Presence.
How can you begin to improve the situation? You must start by removing
the silt that has accumulated behind the rocks. The silt is misqualified
energy. You invoke high-frequency spiritual energy and direct it into
the misqualified energy, thereby raising the vibration of the misqualified
energy. As you clear away the misqualified energy, you can begin to
see the rock, meaning the erroneous belief, that started the process
of accumulation. Once you uncover that erroneous belief, you have
to undo the original decision that caused you to accept that belief.
This must be a conscious process because you have to make a new decision
to replace the original decision.
One might say that the process of spiritual growth is a process whereby
you gradually clear the stream of life. You remove the accumulated
silt that covers the rocks, and then you remove the rocks from the
stream. When you have removed one rock, and all the silt accumulated
behind it, you have taken a very significant step forward on your
personal path.
My point is that at some
point in your past, your soul made a mistake, and it responded to the
situation by making a decision that generates guilt. The decision might
be, “I am a bad person,” “I am not good a this . .
. (whatever activity),” “I am never going to be able to
face God again,” I am unworthy of God’s love” or any
number of variations of the theme that you have made a mistake that
can never be erased.
That decision is a rock that now sits in the stream of your consciousness.
Yet over many lifetimes, the decision has generated misqualified energy
that sits between your conscious mind and the rock as a pile of silt.
It is this silt that makes the decision unconscious. You simply cannot
see the decision for the misqualified energy, which you experience as
emotional hurt or mental blindness (or both).
So the first step is to clear away that misqualified energy, and this
is where Mother
Mary’s rosaries can be an immense help. Using the rosaries
will not only transform the energy, it will also help you overcome the
toxic decision because the rosaries are specifically designed to help
you resolve unconscious blocks. Each rosary contains statements that
counteract the most common toxic decisions. So as you use the rosaries
over time, you will gradually remove the energy that prevents you from
seeing a toxic decision. And at the same time you prepare your mind
to see through the toxic decision and replace it with a life-affirming
decision. I especially recommend the Forgiveness, Acceptance, Unconditional
Love and Oneness rosaries for dealing with guilt.
You can also benefit from various forms of therapy, but transforming
energy should always be part of any form of therapy. Otherwise you might
release the energy from yourself and send it into the world, which can
cause you to make karma when the energy generated by you burdens others.
In some cases severe guilt can cause the soul to be divided, as discussed
elsewhere. In that case
you might need to take more drastic steps for taking command of your
energy field, as described here
or here.
Even though the rosaries or therapy can help you, in the end you must
face your previous decision and consciously replace it with a better
one. And to do that you need to change your understanding of God and
your relationship to God. You need to make peace with God, and I give
teachings for this throughout this website. I recommend starting with
the discourses in this section
and then studying what I have said about forgiveness Link
1, Link
2 and unconditional
love. The basic steps are the following:
- Realize that you were
created by God who gave you free will.
- You have a right to experiment
with your free will, even to the point of making mistakes.
- God has no desire to punish
you for your mistakes or have you feel guilty for making them.
- God simply wants you
to learn from your mistakes and use them as a springboard for growth.
- God wants you to forsake
the consciousness that caused you to make the mistake, and the moment
you do that, you have no need to feel guilty.
- Guilt simply binds you
to the consciousness of duality by making you feel separated from
God.
- God wants only the best
for you, and the ultimate good for any soul is to feel oneness with
its I AM Presence and through that with God.
- So as a spiritual seeker,
you need to let go of all feelings that prevent your sense of oneness,
including, but not limited to, guilt.
- The only way to let go
of a feeling is to remove the misqualified energy, replace the toxic
decision and then consciously decide to accept hat you are now blameless
before God.
- You then simply leave
all sense of separation behind and accept that you are a part of God
who can never be apart from God.
In the end, overcoming guilt
comes down to you accepting the fact that no matter what mistakes you
might have made, God loves you unconditionally. So the moment you decide
that you are willing to leave the past behind and take a step closer
to God, you can and should accept that you are blameless before God.
You need to allow God's perfect love to enter your heart and energy
field, so that it can consume the fear that you are not good enough
to deserve God's love. You are always good enough to receive God's unconditional
love. The problem is that as long as you feel guilty, you will not be
able to accept that you are good enough. And therefore you will not
be able to receive the unconditional love that rains upon the just and
the unjust.
