Question: Thank you for your recent answers on the topic of depression. It seems to me that everywhere I look, there is an article about depression, or someone who is suffering from it (myself included). From my understanding, there are two main types of depression, 1) the reaction to external circumstances, e.g. a loved one dying or the loss of a job, and 2) an internal reaction to your perception of your life e.g. constantly thinking you have no money etc.
But in your reply to Jan, you said that depression is always the result of dark forces. I admit that when I first moved to a new area, I felt the negativity all around me and that contributed to my own depression. Is the incidence of depression higher now because we are said to be "in the last days"?

With love and respect, Renee

Answer from Jesus:

Let me first comment on the idea of the “last days.” As I have explained elsewhere, planet Earth is in the process of moving from one spiritual cycle into the next. This does not mean that the world is coming to an end. It does mean that it is necessary for people to transcend the old state of consciousness and embrace the consciousness of the new age. If people resist this transition in consciousness, they will become more easily depressed due to what you describe as internal factors.

What is happening is that the energies of the new spiritual cycle, anchored through the Ascended Host and many people in embodiment, are forming a magnetic pull on the consciousness of humankind. People are being called to come up higher and “Choose ye this day, whom ye will serve” (Joshua 24:15). It is, so to speak, becoming more difficult to sit on the fence in a spiritual sense. You have to either affirm the Christ within you or deny that Christ.

If you choose to affirm the Christ, you will experience tremendous spiritual growth and fulfillment. If you choose to resist the Christ, you will experience depression, and the more you resist the change in consciousness, the deeper the depression becomes.

You might recall that the Bible talks about the concept that Satan will be bound for a time and then let lose (Revelation 20:7 ). At the end of every spiritual cycle, people are required to come up higher by choosing between light and darkness. One aspect is that the Ascended Host are releasing more spiritual light and giving more assistance than ever before. Our light shines brighter, so it is easier to see for those who are willing to look.

Another aspect is that the dark forces are allowed to attack people more directly than in the past. Therefore, the darkness also becomes more pronounced and easier to see. One might say that during the past spiritual cycle, the Earth was like a room that was not in complete darkness but not brightly lit. So there were many shadowy areas where everything appeared gray, making it more difficult to tell what was God's truth and what was a lie. In this transition period, the Ascended Host are shining a bright search light into the room, so some areas are brightly lit and others seem to be in deeper shadows than before. The contrast between light and dark has become more pronounced, and thus it has become easier for people to choose.

The problem is that most people have not been brought up with an awareness of spiritual cycles or even the need for spiritual growth. This is due to the fact that neither orthodox Christianity nor scientific materialism currently teach people about spiritual growth. Therefore, many people don’t understand what is happening and they resist the change in consciousness. They are, so to speak, seeking to remain in the shadows where it seems like they don’t have to make a choice to drastically change their approach to life.

When you resist the incoming light, you inevitably open yourself to the darkness. So you become more vulnerable to dark forces who can then deepen your depression. In my previous answer, I did not actually say that depression is caused by dark forces, I said that depression is always an attack on your soul by such forces. Yet the underlying cause of the depression is, as I explain in the previous answer, that you have placed yourself in a spiritual catch-22 by not making a clear choice to accept the path to personal Christhood.

So to overcome depression, you need to get off the fence, step out of the shadows and embrace your Chris potential. This website is full of teachings and tools that will help you get on a positive track and leave all depression behind. However, the path to Christhood is not a mechanical or automatic path. It is a creative path of making choices. So to step on to that path requires that you make a decision. And you must make daily decisions to let your ego die and thereby put off the old man so you can merge with the new man of the Christ consciousness (Ephesians 4:21-22).
