About this Website

Question: Is the soul physical, spiritual or both? Is it comprised of energy or matter? Does the soul reside in the physical body and, if so, where? I have heard some say that it is located in the heart and others say it is in the solar plexus area. What is the best way to communicate with our soul?
Can you please explain the difference between the soul and the spirit? Some people seem to get them confused or think that they are one and the same thing.

Answer from Jesus:

As I explain throughout this website, everything is made from energy and energy is vibration. There are different levels of vibration, and some forms of energy vibrate within the frequency spectrum of what I call the material universe. That is what I would call physical energy. The soul, as everything else, is made from energy but it is not made from energy that vibrates within the physical spectrum. Therefore, the soul is not physical.

As I explain elsewhere, every lifestream is an individualization of God. Your true, God-given, individuality is permanently anchored in the spiritual self, often called the I AM Presence. When your lifestream decided to descend into the material universe to experience life at this level of God’s creation, it created an extension of itself which became the soul. The spiritual self created the soul out of its own energies, but in the process of doing so the energies of the soul were lowered in vibration. The energies of the soul vibrate at a slightly higher level than the energies of the material universe. Therefore one might say that the soul can enter into this world but it is not of this world, meaning that it is not made from the energies of this world. The physical body is made from the energies of the material universe, but the soul simply resides in the physical body, much as a driver enters a car without becoming part of it.

You are quite right that many people assume that the soul is the same as the spirit. That is because most people are not aware of the existence of the spiritual self, or the I AM Presence. They assume that the soul makes up the totality of their beings.

In a certain sense, this is not necessarily incorrect because the soul is made from the energies of the spirit and it expresses the individuality of the spiritual self. The difference is not a difference in principle but simply a difference in the level of vibration.

What should be noted, however, is that whereas the spiritual self is permanent and cannot be influenced by the energies of the material world, the soul is not permanent. The soul is the seat of your free will, and therefore you make choices at the level of the soul. When the soul descends into the material world, it has the potential to fall into a lower state of consciousness. When this happens, the soul can forget its spiritual origin and even its spiritual identity and individuality.

The soul can be influenced by the energies and the beliefs found in this world, and therefore it can build a false sense of identity as being a mortal human being instead of an extension of an immortal spiritual being. This can then cause the energies of the soul to become so entangled with the energies of the material world that the soul can actually be lost in this world. One might say that the soul takes some of the energies of this world into its being and accepts them as part of itself. Because of free will, the soul is, at least in the here and now, what it thinks it is. If the souls sees itself as a mortal being, then it will act as a mortal being.

There are many ways to communicate with the soul, such as meditation, or writing a journal. You can use several psychological healing techniques, and one of them is what is called working with the inner child. My technique for inner attunement can be used to communicate with your soul. Simply imagine that you are using me or your Christ self as a link for communicating with your soul. Then write down the thoughts that come to you during the meditation.

You can say that the soul resides in the physical body, but you need to be careful that you do not impose a linear interpretation on this statement. The soul is more than anything a state of consciousness, a field of energy. Therefore, you cannot easily confine the soul to a particular location in time and space. In other words, the soul is not limited in time and space as the physical body is. It would therefore be more correct to say, as explained elsewhere, that there is an energy field surrounding the physical body and that the soul is a part of this energy field.

There are, however, several contact points or communication lines whereby the soul communicates with and expresses itself through the physical body. Some of these contact points is what many spiritual teachings call chakras. The chakras are energy centers in the field that surrounds the physical body and they correspond to physical organs or locations in the body. There are seven main energy centers. The lowest one is located at the base of the spine at the same level as the sexual organs, and highest one is at the top of the head. Between the lowest energy center, often called the base chakra, and the solar plexus is an energy center that is often called the Seat of the Soul Chakra. One might say that this is where the soul is anchored to the physical body. However, the soul also communicates with the body and expresses itself through the other energy centers, one of which is the heart.

So once again, the soul cannot easily be confined to time and space, and therefore it is somewhat misleading to talk about a specific location of the soul. It is almost like talking about the exact location of a cloud.
