from Jesus:
As I explain elsewhere,
everything in the world of form is created from God’s substance.
God’s substance is also God’s consciousness, and therefore
everything in the world of form has the seed of Gods consciousness within
it. Even a stone has a certain level of consciousness, and that is why
I made the statement:
And he answered
and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,
the stones would immediately cry out. (Luke 19:40)
There is, however, a fundamental
difference between inanimate matter and Human souls. Inanimate matter
can actually reach a state of consciousness whereby it becomes aware
that it is consciously outpicturing the perfection of God, but it cannot
do so of its own accord. This is described in more detail in the discourse
by the Presence
of Infinite Light and Mother
Mary.
A human soul has a higher level of consciousness that makes it self-aware
and gives it the potential to be a co-creator with God. This gives the
soul the option to consciously and willfully change its state of consciousness
and sense of identity. In other words, matter can only outpicture the
matrix put upon it by a self-conscious being, whereas a human soul can
deliberately choose which matrix it will outpicture. A soul has the
free will to take advantage of its potential or to deny its potential.
It can choose to be more or less than it was created to be. It can choose
to raise or lower its state of consciousness.
This power to self-transcend (up or down) is the very core of the soul,
because the soul springs from the I AM Presence’s desire for self-transcendence—which
springs from God’s desire for self-transcendence. This is what
some esoteric teachings describe as a divine spark or a threefold flame,
and it is a gift from God that is not found in matter or even in animals.
We might say that the divine spark is part of the talents given to the
soul by God, as I explained in my parable about the talents (Matthew
25:14).
This spiritual fire is located at the center of your energy field, at
the same height as your physical heart but in the center of your chest.
It is located in the energy center, or chakra, behind the heart chakra,
often called the secret chamber of the heart. If a soul chooses to exercise
its free will in harmony with the laws of God, it's divine spark can
gradually be expanded until the soul becomes a self-luminous being and
can ascend to the spiritual realm.
The divine spark has three aspects, namely love, wisdom and power. In
order for the threefold flame to grow, the soul must balance these three
aspects. In other words, it must exercise its power to create and its
desire to express love in a way that is balanced by the wisdom of the
Christ mind.
If a soul becomes unbalanced or deliberately violates the laws of God,
the size and intensity of the threefold flame will gradually diminish.
If a soul spends many lifetimes violating the laws of God, especially
if it is consciously and willfully rebelling against God, the soul can
eventually reach such a low level of consciousness that the threefold
flame, the divine spark, flickers and goes out.
At that point, the soul has literally died in the spiritual sense because
it has lost its ability to self-transcend. This does not mean that the
soul will instantly be erased in the second death, but it does mean
that the soul does not have the inner light that enables it to walk
the path of Christhood. The soul will still have a certain time left,
and it can manage to live on, not only for the lifetime of the physical
body but even beyond.
However, it is the divine spark that allows the soul to receive energy
directly from its I AM Presence. When this divine spark goes out, the
soul can sustain itself only by absorbing energy from its surroundings
and by spending the energy stored in its own being. One might say that
before the divine spark went out, the soul was constantly receiving
money directly from the mint. After the spark is extinguished, the soul
can spend whatever money is left in its cosmic bank account and whatever
it gathers in the marketplace, but it cannot receive new money from
the mint. It can spend the talents it has buried in the ground, but
it cannot multiply them and receive more.
This makes it impossible for that soul to begin the process of putting
on the Christ mind that leads to salvation. Therefore, when the divine
spark has gone out, a person is, from a spiritual perspective, one of
the living dead.
It is possible that the soul’s divine spark can be rekindled.
Yet once the divine spark has gone out, this cannot be done by the soul
itself. The soul can increase its divine spark through its good works
– it can multiply its talents – but it cannot ignite the
divine spark. The igniting of the soul's divine spark must be done through
an outer Savior that has a sufficient level of Christ consciousness
to rekindle the divine spark. This is one of the deeper spiritual meanings
behind by saying:
The thief cometh
not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that
they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
(John 10:10)
I came to give life to those
souls who had lost their divine spark yet were willing to abandon the
carnal mind and start the path toward Christ consciousness. How can
the divine spark be rekindled? The soul must voluntarily choose to absorb
the spiritual light of the Christ consciousness directly from me or
another spiritual teacher. This is what I chose to symbolize at the
last supper, and I talked about it in the following passage:
51 I am the living
bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he
shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which
I will give for the life of the world.
52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this
man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except
ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no
life in you. (John, Chapter 6)
The meaning is that unless
you are willing to absorb the Christ consciousness that I offer you,
your divine spark cannot be rekindled, and therefore you have no life
in you. If your divine spark has not gone out, partaking of the Christ
consciousness is still the key to increasing that spark and thereby
winning your individual Christhood that is the only key to eternal life.
