Question: Beloved Jesus,
I have been reading The Imitation of Christ, by Thomas a Kempis, and would like you to comment on the relevancy of this book in the context of the Teachings that you are bringing forth at the present time.

Victoria

Answer from Jesus:

It is a wonderful book, and Thomas a Kempis was truly one of my messengers. There is so much timeless teaching in the book that it is highly relevant even today.

One of the main topics in the book is that everyone can commune directly with God. This is the exact same message that I am trying to present on this website. Obviously, this is no coincidence. We of the Ascended Host have been trying to get people to understand that same message for thousands of years.

In the Age of Aquarius, it is more important than ever that people understand this message, because in the new age people have a greater opportunity to commune directly with God than ever before.

When reading the imitation of Christ, keep in mind that the book was written six centuries ago. It was written in and for a predominantly Catholic culture. Therefore, there were many things that could not be said in the book, because they would go too far beyond church doctrine. At the time, this would have led to persecution of the author and have caused many people to be afraid to read the book. In fact, back then some people considered the book to be far too radical. Some people still do.

Also keep in mind that the book was written during the so-called Dark Ages. It was a time when life was much harder than it is for most people in today’s Western world. Therefore, the book tends to focus more on suffering and on life’s hardships than is relevant for today.

Nevertheless, the book is a wonderful example of how one person can raise his or her consciousness and serve as a messenger for the Ascended Host. It is a wonderful source of inspiration that can help anyone commune with God.
