The
New Ager
Did you ever consider this question: “Who were the people that
followed Jesus and who were the people that nailed him to the cross?”
Jesus was persecuted by people with a closed-minded approach to spirituality
and he was recognized by those with an open-minded approach—such
as yourself. What do you think Jesus would be called if he appeared
on Earth today? That’s right, he would be called a New Age cult
leader and the first to denounce him would be orthodox Christians.
This should tell you that Jesus was NOT the kind of spiritual leader
that he has been portrayed to be by orthodox Christianity. And it should
tell you that he might have something to offer today’s spiritual
seekers.
You have probably been put off by the hellfire and brimstone style of
some Christian preachers. You have probably rejected their claim that
Jesus was the only son of God and the only road to salvation. You probably
don’t believe for a second that all non-christians will burn forever
in hell. Yet if you look behind the surface, you will find that Jesus
never preached any of that. On the contrary, his real teachings, his
mystical inner teachings, were very different from the orthodox Christian
doctrines.
When you look beyond the facade created by orthodox Christianity, you
see that Jesus was a universal spiritual teacher who came in the same
tradition and lineage as the Buddha, Khrishna and many other spiritual
teachers. Jesus even traveled
to the East and studied Eastern mystical teachings. Jesus truly
came to demonstrate the spiritual path that leads to a higher state
of consciousness.
When you realize this, it becomes clear that Jesus could have much to
offer today’s New Age people. In fact, Jesus was the universal
spiritual leader for the spiritual age of Pisces. He came to give us
the teachings we need in order to get ready for the present Age of Aquarius.
If we ignore Jesus and fail to learn the lessons he teaches, how can
we hope to move into the Aquarian Age consciousness and become the forerunners
for the Golden Age?
If you can look beyond the orthodox image of Jesus, this website will
offer you a treasure trove of spiritual teachings that are of interest
to most New Age people. You might begin by considering the following:
